About Sylvia Ingle – Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mind Calming Specialist

I’m Sylvia Ingle, a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mind Calming Specialist, working with adults, children, professionals, and organisations across the UK.

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent over 25 years in senior roles within global investment banking. That background gave me first-hand insight into the pace, pressure, and complexity of demanding professional environments, as well as the impact that constant responsibility and high expectations can have on mental and emotional wellbeing.

My work focuses on helping the nervous system settle, so clarity, emotional balance, and resilience can return naturally. I have a special interest in Menopause (Peri and Post) and provide specific Menopause Support programme.

I offer CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia), the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for persistent sleep difficulties and insomnia.

My Background

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent over 25 years in senior roles within Global Investment Banking, including Citibank, Chase Manhattan and Credit Suisse and a financial service company, Delta Capita, predominantly in London but also in New York. I understand the realities of high-pressure environments, sustained responsibility, confidentiality, and the mental load that often comes with leadership and performance-driven roles.

Alongside my corporate career, I held roles such as Global Head of a Corporate Wellness Committee and Mental Health First Aider, designing and supporting wellbeing initiatives within organisations.

This combination of professional experience and therapeutic training strongly shapes how I work today – practical, grounded, and deeply respectful of people’s lived experiences.

How I Work

I offer calm, evidence-informed therapy that focuses on understanding rather than fixing.

Many of the difficulties people experience – anxiety, insomnia, emotional overwhelm, burnout – are signs that the nervous system has been under prolonged strain. When this is the case, logic and willpower alone are rarely enough.

Rather than analysing or forcing change, sessions support:

Nervous system regulation

Emotional safety

Reduced fear and reactivity

Clearer thinking and insight

From this place, change often happens naturally and sustainably.

An Integrated, Individual Approach

My work draws on a range of evidence-informed approaches, including:

Clinical hypnotherapy

Havening Techniques®

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Mindfulness

Clarity-based coaching

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

These approaches are used intuitively and responsibly within each session, guided by what feels most supportive and appropriate for each client.

Professional Standards and Reassurance

I’m registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

This means my work meets recognised standards for training, ethical practice, and professional accountability.

A Space to Pause

Therapy doesn’t need to feel intense, dramatic, or overwhelming. My aim is to offer a space where things can slow down enough for balance to be restored

Working with Sylvia was a wonderful and healing experience. She has a fantastic attitude and a very caring heart and really helped me. I feel very lucky to have being helped by her and would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who wants support.

I have had the wonderful experience of working with Sylvia periodically over the past 10 years. Initially, I attended one of her meditation classes. After struggling for years to embrace meditation, my one-on-one sessions with her completely transformed my early practice. In addition, her hypnotherapy sessions have been especially supportive during several tough chapters. Feedback from employees in my former business who attended classes with her were universally positive as well. Her grounding in mental health is augmented by a deep understanding of nutrition, physical fitness, longevity and sleep.

Since my cancer diagnosis, Sylvia has helped me with a number of issues over several years. She has a broad toolbox which has enables her to decide which tool would be best placed to help and sometimes uses a mixture of different techniques. She has enabled me to face a long course of radiotherapy head on without the need for sedatives for my claustrophobia using hypnotherapy and helped me overcome PTSD, following traumatic surgery and is currently helping me face my anxiety during regular chemotherapy after more than two and a half years of continuous treatment with her Mindcalming techniques. I would absolutely recommend her.
